Nikos Polyzos

Professor in Health Service Organizational Management, Democritus University of Thrace, Greece

He studied Political, Administrative and Economic Sciences at University of Athens. He is an LSE graduate in MSc Health Planning and Financing. Finally he got his PhD from Athens University in Hospital Management and Economics.
He worked over 20 years as Hospital Manager and over 15 years as an academic staff. He was Secretary General of Ministry of Health in the beginning of recent decade and recently CEO of public health system in Cyprus. He worked as a consultant in international, Greek and Cypriot organizations. He now works as a Professor of Health Service Management in DUTH.
His research work and interests have been focused in social and health administration, financial management of health services, social sickness funds and pharmaceuticals.
He published books in health service management and financial management, papers and articles on the field in international and greek peer review journals, minutes in conferences, etc.
